Prototype seen on Dragon's Den NZ

Comment by Simon Dyer, 2CLight Director and Innovator

In September 2006 Dragon's Den New Zealand aired my previously recorded presentation of the 2CLight to New Zealand.

It was a great opportunity to get some feedback from New Zealand's entrepreneurial elite. Unfortunately the 2CLight was in its early development stage and it might have been received more enthusiastically if the dragons had seen it in its current form, with completed electronics providing brighter longer lasting light, and the fantastic industrial design of the ergonomic plastics developed by the award winning local companies Industrial Alchemy Limited and Talbot Plastics.
I was pleased to receive an offer of investment from Julie Christie which sadly I knew I could not accept. You can hear their comments after I walked offstage at TVOne's website (video) and I'm pleased to report that I acted on their comments and the 2CLight in its final shipping version much improved on the prototype, making the appearance a valuable experience.

Award Winner, New Zealand Techno Fashion

Comment by Simon Dyer, 2CLight Director and Innovator

The fashion show was a lot of fun. It was certainly something I had no previous experience with. I was pleased to make contact with the Brigette Knight School of Dance who did a fantastic job of presenting the 2CLight in a variety of applications, like walking the dog, navigating the bush, dance parties, children playing and generally showing the new freedom that the 2CLight gives the wearer due to its convenience, and lack of dependency on batteries. Being invited to join the Fashion Show in November 2006 increased our exposure and we were thrilled, though not surprised, to receive the award for Best Functional Design.
